ABOUT IAN
Professor Ian Baldwin, (A.M.), R.N. PhD., F.A.C.C.C.N.
​
Ian Baldwin is a researcher and resource for clinical care in Intensive Care and was the principal Nursing Educator for Austin Health Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for over 30 years. Ian has held adjunct affiliations with Deakin (current) and RMIT Universities.
​
Ian has undertaken many research and quality activities in Intensive Care, and has presented at many scientific meetings in Australia, United States of America, Europe and Asia over the last 35 years.
​
Ian has completed both a Masters and PhD in clinical research for support of acute kidney injury (AKI) in ICU and has over 125 journal publications and multiple book chapters devoted to the application of renal replacement therapies, blood purification and quality and education activities in ICU.
Ian has been given many awards for his research and education both within Australia and Internationally.
​
In Italy,2018, he was awarded in for his contributions to Critical Care Nephrology in Europe by the World Leader in this field, Professor Claudio Ronco (The Vicenza Award) and admitted to the IRRIV faculty.
In 2021 Ian was awarded an Order of Australia on the Australian Queen’s Birthday public holiday and became Member of the Order, or ‘AM’.

Ian has many connections to World leaders in the domain of AKI and ICU care and is a member of faculty and consensus quality groups.
​
Ian has presented more than 300 lectures at conferences around the globe, and in 2023 he presented at scientific meetings in the USA, Europe and Asia.
